Documents required for a United States of America Visa

Mandatory Details

1. Passport

   • Original passport required: Valid for at least 6 months from UK departure with 2 blank pages. Include any old passports.
   • Handwritten, observed, or passports with validity more than 10-year old are not accepted. Provide photocopies of first and last passport pages.

2. Additional requirements

   • In-person visit to the visa application centre for biometric submission and document submission.
   • All documents must be in English or accompanied by an official translation. Additional documents may be requested by the High Commission on a case-by-case basis.

Occupation Details

1. Financial Documents

   • Last 3 years personal Income Tax Returns
   • Personal bank statement for last 6 months with bank's sign & seal showing sufficient balance and cash flow

Occupational Details

1. Employed

   • Company appointment letter
   • Salary slips for the last 6 months
   • Leave sanction letter and no objection certificate from employer mentioning the dates of leave sanctioned on company letterhead along with the name, designation, signature and contact information of the authorized signatory

2. Self-employed

   • Cover Letter, with the business letterhead.
   • Business registration certificate; can be any of GST certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership deed, MOA, etc.
   • Add valid proprietorship proof.

3. Student

   • Bonafied certificate and Leave letter from educational institution
   • Student identity card copy

4. Retired

   • Retirement Proof (OR)
   • Pension slip for the last 3 months.

Optional Details

1. Investment Documents

   • Investments such as: Property Ownership, Life Insurance, Fixed Deposits Or Demat Holdings Statement

Conditional Requirements

1. Marriage certificate

   • Applicable, if the spouses name is not mentioned at the back of the passport.

2. Applicable, if staying with friends and family

   • Copy of Passport and Visa of the Inviter
